REGULAR CLASSES
Heart and Move It Program Monday and Heart and Move It Program Wednesday
Eight week, low-cost exercise program for seniors and retirees. Gentle exercise program with low to moderate intensity physical activity. Mondays OR Wednesdays in Ryde (once or twice a week).
Lift for Life Program Meadowbank and Lift for Life Program Marsfield
Eight week, low-cost outdoor resistance training program for seniors and retirees.
Mondays and Wednesdays in Meadowbank OR Tuesdays and Thursdays in Marsfield (twice a week).
Aquatic Exercise Program
Eight week, low-cost exercise program for seniors and retirees. Low impact exercise program with low to moderate intensity physical activity. Fridays at Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre (once a week).

Description:
Improve your confidence and technique when presenting your ideas and writing.This hands-on course, run over two evenings, is designed for writers but equally useful for anyone presenting and interacting with an audience, large or small.
Thursday 22 August: “Read Us Your Story”
- Reading techniques – vocal variety, inflection, grammar and pausing, eye contact techniques, gestures
- Microphone techniques – lapel vs wrap vs handheld, techniques and practice
- Profile your audience – how to connect
Thursday 29 August: “Preparing for Interview, Responding to Questions”
- Interview questions and how to respond, timing, layering, techniques
- Engaging with a live audience – display confidence, who to look at
- Difficult audiences – techniques for difficult audiences and individuals
This Bootcamp is designed and presented by Chatswood Speaking & Leadership Club – Toastmasters International.
Booking essential. Cost is $50 for both workshops, payable online upon booking, and is non-refundable.

CITY
This winter the Queen Victoria Building will open its doors at night for its QVB After Dark series of captivating artistic installations, tours and events.
Central to the event is the Heart of the QVB, an interactive installation created by visual artist ØFFERINGS.
Ghost tours run every Thursday evening, giving visitors a unique insight into the building’s quirky supernatural history.
All this leads up to the major event, QVB After Dark LIVE on 22nd August.

There really is something for everyone in our Active Ku-ring-gai program, as we aim to encourage people of all ages and fitness levels to participate in fun physical activity.
There is a great range of activities and sports on offer in various venues across Ku-ring-gai, including pilates, tennis, tai chi, yoga, ‘gym without walls’ and more!

Terms and conditions
- Choose carefully as fees are non-refundable.
- Ku-ring-gai Council cannot accept responsibility for changes to individual’s personal circumstances that prevent attendance.
- Transfers may only be permitted during the same term provided places are available.
- Refunds or discounting of fees will be considered only as a result of extreme external impacts or extenuating circumstances.
- Please note that classes missed are the participant’s responsibility and are non-refundable.
- In the event of a tutor being unable to take a class a replacement tutor will be organised for that class. In the case of a qualified tutor not being available to take a missed class, you will be advised of a replacement class date.
