Australian Improv Festival

Comedy, theatre and workshops

Welcome to The Australian Improv Festival.

This inaugural festival features all-star comedy performers and teachers from all across Australia and around the globe.

If you’re new to improv comedy theatre, the main thing to know is trained performers will spontaneously create characters, dialogue, and an entire show using your ideas, suggestions and stories as inspiration.

Every show is unique, never to be repeated or seen again. Ever.

And while you may be familiar with “Whose Line is it Anyway,” “Thank God You’re Here,” or even “TheatreSports,” there’s so much more to improvisational theatre.

In fact, most of the funny people you love to watch on TV and in films got their start in improv, from Tina Fey and Steve Carrell to Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell.

So come enjoy 2 nights of improvised fun. From improvised musicals and silly Shakespeare, to murder mysteries and even a show inspired by the long lost Harold Holt, we truly have something for everyone.

And if you feel inspired, check out our many workshops on topics ranging from how to use improv in business, storytelling, sketch comedy writing, children’s classes, and more.

We’ll even host a free intro to improv workshop brought to you by Laugh-Masters Academy.

You deserve to have more laughter in your life. Book now.
