You can help to reduce the amount of reusable items going to landfill and also have less to put out for your next Household CleanUp by holding a Garage Sale.

Talks@Willoughby presents Richard Glover

Start Date & Time: Wednesday, 14 November 2018 12:30 pm

End Date & Time: Wednesday, 14 November 2018 1:30 pm

Address: Chatswood Library on The Concourse, Lower Ground, 409 Victoria Ave, Chatswood

Cost: Free

Places Available: Booked Out

Description:

Join Richard Glover as he takes a journey to an almost unrecognisable Australia – the Australia of his childhood. The Australia of the late ’60s and early ’70s.

Let’s break the news now: they didn’t have avocado.

It’s a place of funny clothing and food that was appalling, but amusingly so. It is also the land of staggeringly awful attitudes – often enshrined in law – towards anybody who didn’t fit in.

The Land Before Avocado is a funny and frank look at the way Australia used to be. It will leave you wondering how bizarre things were, not so long ago, and just how far we have come.

Lindfield Bookshop will have copies of the author’s book available for sale on the day.

Bookings essential – use the ‘Book Now’ button below. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. If you require assistance with seating, please contact the Library prior to the event.

Contact: Willoughby City Library on 9777 7900 or email library@willoughby.nsw.gov.au
