Parramatta
The 2019 Parramatta Foundation Festival takes place from Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3rd November 2019. Celebrating and appreciating our rich cultural heritage, there are events over 3 days in 10 locations important to Parramatta’s past.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the festival program includes the huge Mrs Macquarie’s Picnic in Parramatta Park, graveyard tours, a garden party at Brislington House medical museum, stoushes about Macarthur over dinner at Hambledon Cottage, a Halloween ghost tour of Old Government House, an intriguing experience at Elizabeth Farm … and twilight walking tours with local Aboriginal guides to learn about the deeper and older foundations of Burramatta.
On Sunday 3rd November the festival culminates with a huge family day at the North Parramatta Heritage precinct with heritage tours, chats with local historians, ‘rare trades’ demonstrations, arts, crafts and skills workshops, live music, market stalls, great food, native animals and biologists, horse and cart rides and activities for everyone. Learn about things. Learn to do things! Have fun.
